COOPERATION

Umesh Ghimire is a 28-year-old boy who lives for his mother. They are struggling for their shelter. They have lost their home because of the disaster.

The non-profit organization Don't Forget Nepal helped the village of Umesh shortly after the earthquakes and provided immediate assistance to families who had lost their homes. They provided them with plastic and bamboo for roofs and temporary toilets.

We are happy that Umesh has been involved in actions. Umesh ins now very motivated to help victims and to reconstruct national schools and houses.

We met each other in the reconstruction of the Shree Saraswhotii School, in the village of Kavrepalanchok, where we participated with three different associations: Don’t Forget Nepal, Hugging Nepal and us with RecoopNepal (ONG NouSol). There we had the opportunity to meet Umesh, along with other Nepalese people who helped us with the reconstruction of rural school, and a group of European volunteers. (Information about the international cooperation project http://www.nousol.org/es/reconstruccion-de-la-shree-saraswhotii-primary-school/).

We see Umesh as a boy of our age, shy, hard-working. He is always happy. He called his mum every night, and told her how his day was.

Little by little, we started a bond of friendship between laughs and work. He did not speak much English, but he taught us that friendship does not have verbal language!

Umesh demonstrated to everyone his desire to help other people who had suffered the same situation as he. He always showed himself grateful by the happiness of everybody. His eves illuminated when he saw that these rural schools were definitely rebuilt.
